Talented and now called a star screenwriter, Park Ji Eun has already established a reputation in the industry. Some of her famous dramas are "Crash Landing on You," "My Love from the Star," "Legend of the Blue Sea," and "The Producer."

This 2024, she teamed up with another creative Kim Hee Won, who is the mind behind the hit series "Vincenzo" and "Little Women." The two joined forces to produce the currently airing and trending drama "Queen of Tears."

However, just a week after the series aired and received massive love from the audience, the drama was clouded as Park Ji Eun's plagiarism allegations appeared again online.

To recall, Park Ji Eun faced accusations of plagiarism three times, most recently with "Crash Landing on You." In 2017, Park Ki Hyun, the screenwriter of the drama "Legend of the Blue Sea" claimed that Park stole heavily from his unproduced screenplay.

In response to this, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors cleared Park Ji Eun as they found no evidence of copyright infringement in the case.

The same issue was thrown to her in 2013 in the drama "My Love from the Star." Cartoonist Kang Kyung Ok alleged the drama copied her comic book series. Even though Park denied reading the comics, and stated that she only learned of its existence through media reports, she still received criticisms from the public.

In addition, the record-breaking drama "Crash Landing on You" also sparked similar accusations. An aspiring writer claimed the similarities between their manuscript's logline and the drama's plot. Park Ji Eun's team took legal action against the writer, and the rookie writer created a buzz as she expressed suicidal thoughts for being under immense pressure from the case.

Due to these, "Queen of Tears" is receiving mixed reactions among viewers. Some were disappointed with the cast's involvement in a project associated with the writer. Others, however, look forward to the entertainment value that the new drama offers.

"The aspiring writer who was plagiarized by Park Ji Eun said that if you have a truly original and innovative idea, you should never enter a competition."

"I used to like Kim Soo Hyun, and I was thinking of watching 'Queen of Tears,' but I lost interest after learning that it is penned by Park Ji Eun. I wonder where she got this from this time. There might be other victims out there."

"Park Ji Eun's plagiarism issue didn't just begin in 'Crash Landing on You.' She's been accused of every single one of her works. It is disappointing to see people who are always the fastest to share news articles about new casting announcements seemingly haven't noticed this issue at all."
