Following its fruitful conclusion, TVING's "Pyramid Game" faces massive backlash from South Korean schools due to the work's themes and narrative.

On March 25, the series was mentioned in a school's home newsletter, and was called out for allegedly perpetuating school violence among students.

To recall, "Pyramid Game" depicts the students participating in a voting game in order to rank themselves inside the classroom, and ultimately identify who will be their new bullying target.

In the newsletter notice, the schools from Jeonju, North Jeolla Province call for the prevention of the spread of "Pyramid Game." The school said, "There's a high possibility that the disguised game will produce more school violence."

"We need active interest and guidance from the parents to ensure that students don't become the seed of the crime," the school added.

However, the production unit initially aimed to eradicate school violence by offering easy-to-digest K-dramas like "Pyramid Game" that mirror real-life scenarios.

Meanwhile, many netizens have enjoyed the series but agreed that the work isn't suitable for very young audiences due to its gray themes and apparent school violence.
