Brian May doesn't hide his admiration for Adam Lambert and he's again profuse with praise for the "American Idol" alum as Queen is set to play on the Sweden Rock Festival.

In an interview for Bang Showbiz, as shared by TV3, Brian May said that Adam Lambert would get a stamp of approval from Freddie Mercury himself.

"Adam is a phenomenon, you just have to watch him. We didn't look for him, we never looked for anyone to replace Freddie ever, the thing with Paul Rodgers happened very naturally," he said, referring to the former Queen frontman who joined the band in 2004 for a tour.

Later, drummer Roger Taylor admitted that the experiment with Paul Rodgers didnt' really work because the vocalist, even being gifted with one of the greatest rock voices, was "more blues and soul oriented."

"I would say, with all due respect to Paul, that Adam is more suited to a lot of our material and whereas we had great tours with Paul, I think Adam is more naturally at home with us," he told the Toronto Sun.

Brian May agrees about Queen being elevated after Adam Lambert joined the tour.

"Adam just came out of the blue, I call him the 'GFG' because he's like a gift from God! It was like, 'Where the f**k did he come from?' He's just incredible and he's not a copy of Freddie, he's very much his own man and brings his style to it," he said.

"He has a unique combination of confidence and humility, and he as the magic touch which means he can resonate with an audience. And his voice is beyond belief I think even Freddie would be saying that," Brian May added.

Meanwhile, Queen + Adam Lambert will descend in Sweden for the rock festival on June 9 next year.

"It has been more than 10 years since Queen last visited Sweden, playing a sold out show at the Stockholm Globe Arena," the press release said. "Still, they have remained in the public eye and perhaps even built on their popularity since then."

"We are proud to announce that one of the biggest and most legendary bands in rock history, Queen, fronted by sensational new vocalist Adam Lambert, will be performing at the Sweden Rock Festival next year!" the press release added.

Meanwhile, original guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor teamed up with vocalist Adam Lambert in 2009 and have spent the last few years selling out arenas across the world as Queen + Adam Lambert.

In June 2016, their Swedish fans finally have a chance to hear and see Her Majesty in the flesh again!
