The Korean film "Parasite" made history in the Korean film industry by winning the Best Picture awards at the Oscars. However, director Bong Joon Ho and his "Parasite" cast and crew still can't believe that they were able to take home 4 wins and they are still pinching themselves as their joyful night of celebration took place on the 92nd Academy Awards.
Many fans of the movie including those who attended the Oscars were having tears of joy and many celebrations were in store for the South Koreans on Sunday night. The "Parasite" cast and crew were the toast of Hollywood as they walked into the party after party together they are being greeted as heroes of the night.
The people, who attended the party danced, drank Champagne and dined on sushi, crab legs, boba parfait and caviar-topped tater tots at the official post-Oscars bash.
Wow, it seems like "Parasite" director Bong Joon Ho kept his promise to drink "until next morning" after making history and taking home four Oscars on Sunday night.
Director Bong Joon Ho's "Parasite" was the first-ever non-English-language film to win the best picture and the first South Korean film to win the best international feature in history. In celebration for their wins, the cast and crew of "Parasite" hopped around from Los Angeles' Soho House to the Vanity Fair Oscars party before ending up at Koreatown's Soban, where they celebrated until surise, according to some reports.
Jennifer Pak, who is the Korean restaurant owner told a source that the restaurant made multiple Korean dishes like galbi jjim which is a braised short rib, bibimbap, and seafood tofu pancakes. Director Bong Joon Ho and the cast and crew of "Parasite" celebrated and partied at Soban from 2:45 until 5 in the morning.
Their visit to this particular restaurant was not random at all since Bong had visited the restaurant earlier in January together with "Parasite" star Song Kang Ho.
The fans of the film "Parasite" took to Twitter to celebrate Director Bong Joon Ho's success and to laud the cast's afterparty. One twitter user shared "Bong Joon-ho going out for Korean BBQ to celebrate his Oscar wins and then using his speech to praise portrait of a lady on fire & céline. Bong Joon-ho I would DIE for you."
The "Parasite's" Four Oscars wins are considered historic and Asian Americans shouted out and expressed their joy over the recognition of social media. The pride echoed back to South Korea, where South Korean President Moon Jae-in applauded the film's wins at a staff meeting on the following day which is Monday.
To top it all off, the Walt Disney Family Museum also congratulated Director Bong Joon Ho who had the same wins as Walt Disney's 1954 single-night record of four Oscars wins.
