Actor Choi Seung Hyun (TOP of Big Bang), who had recently filmed the movie "The Commitment," had an interview at a cafe in Samchung doing, Seoul.
"The Commitment" is a movie about Lee Myung Hoon, a young North Korean man who strives to protect his younger brother from the complicated relationship of the North and the South Korea.
When asked why he decided to film 'The Commitment,' Choi Seung Hyun said, "I didn't have much of a reason. I felt sympathy for the main character, Lee Myung Hoon. When I first read the script, I didn't really get a feel for it. But then I thought this could be something I could do well."
To film a scene where Lee Myung Hoon cries and breaks down, Choi Seung Hoon asked the director if he could drink.
"You can't drink to perform your character. But I thought before filming, 'What if I drink a little bit to better convey emotions of Lee Myung Hoon?' Thankfully, my director understood where I was coming from, and I drank a bottle of soju for the scene."
Unlike his previous movie with prominent movie actors such as Kwon Sang Woo and Cha Seung Won, Choi Seung Hyun said, his role in "The Commitment" was greater.
"I think I developed to see the all of it in filming scenes. Before, I only memorized my lines. Now I memorize lines of other actors. I dont know if I'm better at acting, but I know I'm putting my best effort into it."
