"Blood Free" episode 6 highlights the background story of why Han Hyo Joo's character created BF Group.

A thriller political K-drama released by Disney+, the 10-episode series depicts the story of CEO Yoon Ja Yoo, who wants to change humans' consumption of meat by creating genetically engineered cultured meat on the market.

With the drastic change that she wants to introduce to people, there are groups and even individuals who want to stop her.

Unfortunately, her safety is also on the line, which prompted her to hire a bodyguard through former military officer Woo Chae Woon, played by Ju Ji Hoon.

'Blood Free' Episode 6: Woo Chae Woon Chases a Mysterious Person

With Woo Chae Woon, Yoon Ja Yoo, On San, Seo Hui, and researcher Hong Sae Ip keeping the experiment from the public's eye, people around them are getting suspicious. This includes fellow bodyguard Kim Ho Seung, who seemed curious about Chae Woon's well-being.

He may seem nosy, but it appears that he is more concerned about his status, especially when he witnessed how he almost died during the attack.

Meanwhile, CEO Yoon had a private conversation with researcher Hong Sae Ip regarding her superior Kim Sin Gu, who died of suicide.

According to her, following the death of his wife, he used to go to a support group every Wednesday.

At first, he seemed jolly about it, but after a few months, she noticed that he had been skipping meeting the support group.

Due to this, Yoon Ja Yoo instructed Woo Chae Woon and Kim Ho Sung to gather more information regarding the alleged support group and find out its connection with the late Kim Sin Gu.

The sixth episode also featured the background story of Yoon Ja Yoo and her obsession with genetically cultured meat.

During her early years as a medical student, Kim Sin Gu, who is her and On San's senior, took them out for an epidemiological survey.

Here, the duo witnessed how pigs were slaughtered for consumption. The unexpected incident prompted Yoon Ja Yoo to leave the university, but he returned with a new mission, which is to create the perfect dominant species.

She invited On San to help her break the food chain and started the company BF Group.

However, Yoon Ja Yoo has a special reason for starting the company.

In "Blood Free" episode 6, Yoon Ja Yoo's twin was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD). It is also known as mad cow disease for humans.

Due to the complications, her twin passed away; however, what made Yoon Ja Yoo furious was the government's refusal to acknowledge that her sister died because of CJD.

She also regretted not trying everything to save her sister. This is why he aims to help humans live a long life by creating new organs through cultured tissue, the same experiment that they did with Woo Chae Woon.

In the last scene of "Blood Free," Woo Chae Woon and Kim Ho Seung were able to locate the group.

The facilitator mentioned that Kim Sin Gu was quite an introvert and only talks to one person in the group.

The new information raises suspicion that the mysterious person might be their lead regarding Kim Sin Gu's case.

The duo ended up chasing the man they believed was Kim Sin Gu's groupmate.

However, Woo Chae Woon found Kim Ho Seung struggling to survive after being attacked by the mysterious man.
