Netflix's TV show "Super Rich in Korea" is garnering negative comments from viewers following its premiere on May 7.

On the 7th, the streaming giant released the whole season run, leaving viewers with six episodes with a run time of 30 minutes.

But behind the popularity of several Netflix reality shows like "Physical: 100" and "Single's Inferno," "Super Rich in Korea," which showcases the lifestyle of ultra-wealthy individuals, didn't get the same reaction from its viewers.

Hosted by GOT7's BamBam, Oh My Girl's Mimi, and comedian Jo Se Ho, the "Super Rich in Korea" introduces the extravagant lifestyle of rich people living in South Korea.

On the show, he is introduced as David Yong's friend and has been living in Korea for 3 years for his food and beverage business.

The fourth cast member is Noor Naim, an Iraqi-Emirati influencer with a YouTube channel raking over 20.7 million subscribers and an Instagram boasting 14.6 million followers.

Last on the list is Yoo Hee Ra, a 25-year-old South Korean personality, who is known in the fashion industry.

Viewers Disappointed With 'Super Rich in Korea'

After its official premiere on Netflix, "Super Rich in Korea" entered the Top 10 TV shows in various countries.

According to Flix Patrol, the reality show ranked 10th in the Philippines, Bangladesh, Norway, and Saudi Arabia, while No. 1 in Singapore and Hong Kong as of May 9.

However, some of the global viewers expressed their honest thoughts about the show on Reddit, mentioning how dissatisfied they are with the new Netflix variety show.

In one post, titled "Super Rich in Korea is the Worst Korean Variety Show," the online user pointed out that the show gives a "forced, boring, and fake" view of what "rich" means in South Korea.

In addition to this, viewers were also disappointed that the show failed to cast real chaebols since 99 percent of the cast members were foreigners.

  • "It's so weird that the concept of the show is kind of pointless."
  • "Sounds like they couldn't get the real Chaebol to be on the show and had to resort to this."
  • "I thought the show was going to be about rich Koreans."
  • "I watched for 5 minutes, and I shut it off."
