Charlotte Dawson, the stunning Australian media personality, has been found dead at age 47.
The former model was reportedly found hanged in her apartment after a long, public battle with depression after her divorce to Scott Miller.
According to foxnews.com, Charlotte Dawson was admitted to a Sydney hospital after a suicide attempt following multiple accounts of abuse on Twitter back in 2012.
She had taken prescription tablets with wine and tweeted "you win" to her tormentors.
The beautiful TV star made it her goal to fight bullying, waging an anti-bullying media campaign on television and radio as well as in newspapers and magazines.
She was made an anti-bullying ambassador last year by the National Rugby League.
Despite her good work, her battle with depression left her fragile, enough for friends to notice and for her to eventually commit suicide.
Close friend Alex Perry spoke to news.com.au, saying, "She was such a beautiful girl, she had so much energy and such a sense of humor, but her battle with her mental illness just made it so difficult for her to really go in so many parts of her life."
He continued, "It was such a battle and as she got older it was harder to deal with, I just can't believe she has taken her own life but all I can do is pray for her and know now that she is up there with her mother who she dearly loved."
Dawson was broke after being axed from "Australia's Next Top Model" and had reportedly borrowed money from friends before her death.
During her Sydney memorial, Perry spoke of how the breakdown of her marriage and divorce slowly led Dawson to clinical depression and her recent suicide.
He stated, "She had her heart broken in a very public break up."
Scott Miller and Charlotte Dawson were married for one year from 1999 to 2000, but their relationship ended in divorce when CCTV footage of the disgraced swimmer having sex with an unidentified woman in a public bathroom and snorting drugs surfaced.
Scott Miller was not in attendance at the memorial service where hundreds arrived to say their final goodbyes to Dawson.
According to the Daily Mail, Miller's mother stated that the troubled athlete didn't attend the service in fear of "stealing the spotlight."
