When viewers said goodbye to Jin Se Yeon's self-sacrificing bride on "Inspiring Generation," the actress was already preparing for her next role. Having romanced Kim Hyun Joong in "Inspiring Generation," she was getting ready to play Lee Jong Suk's love in "Doctor Stranger."
Stills for the new drama show her on the back of his motorcycle.
Some still consider Jin Se Yeon a rookie but given her lineup of dramas and desirable leading men, that title may no longer be accurate. Here are some things you may not know about her.
1. Jin Se Yeon appeared in "Bridal Mask" with Joo Won and in that drama she met a very similar fate. Her character Mok Dan was marrying her true love when she was cruelly killed by a fate meant for him. In "Bridal Mask," she took a bullet. In "Inspiring Generation," she drank poison to save Kim Hyun Joong. And some are saying her wardrobe for both tragic love scenes was similar.
2. Despite being beautiful, the actress is not completely confident about her looks. After getting comments about her face, she has decided her cheeks are chubby.
"Older ladies are always telling me that onscreen I look very round and flat," she said. "At first it didn't bother me too much but then I heard it so often that it made me cry. Sometimes, I look at the TV and think that my face just won't do. Then I decide to skip a meal. When I lose a little weight, it's a bit better."
3. Although she was six years younger than her "Bridal Mask" co-star Joo Won, she felt like she was his older sister.
"It was like he was my younger brother and I felt like protecting him," she said. "However, once we started filming, I always admired how he totally changed. That's how good an actor he is. Once filming ends, he immediately turned back into a cute child."
4. She took piano lessons for six years. In the drama "Five Fingers," she is really playing during the piano scenes.
5. The only down side to her successful career is that the 20-year-old has had no time to date. For example, in 2012 she attended Chung Ang University, and filmed the dramas "My Daughter the Flower," "Bridal Mask" and "Five Fingers." She only took two days off that year, which is not enough time to date.
"I think I caught the attention of directors who were looking for a fresh face, because I was a relatively unknown actress at that time," she told the Chosun Ilbo.
She also confessed that she had her first kiss on screen.
