Which Drama Won The Baeksang Awards?

Some of the winners for the 50th Baeksang Awards might surprise viewers.

While, for example, "You Who Came From The Stars" was nominated for nine categories, it did not win best drama. That award went to KBS2 TV's "Good Doctor," starring Joo Won and Moon Chae Won.

"You Who Came From The Stars" had higher ratings than "Good Doctor" but the medical drama about a savant doctor with some social difficulties won critical praise for its sensitive portrayal of a person with disabilities. And that gave it an edge.

Even though "You Who Came From The Stars" did not earn the best drama award, both of its stars were recognized.

Jun Ji Hyun won a grand prize for playing the role of Chun Song Yi, the self-involved Hallyu Star. Kim Soo Hyun won a best new actor award for his role in the film "Secretly Greatly" and a popularity award for his role as an alien in the drama series.

The award for best actor in a drama went to Jo Jae Hyun for his role in the KBS drama "Jeong Do Jeon." The award for best actress in a drama went to Lee Bo Young for her role in the SBS drama "I Hear Your Voice."

Ahn Pan Suk, producer of the JTBC series "Secret Love Affair" won the award for the best producer."

Song Gang Ho, who has dozens of films to his credit, was the male winner of the grand prize for his role in the 2013 film "The Attorney." He will next be seen in the film "Sado" with Moon Geun Young and Yoo Ah In.

The best actor in film award was given to veteran actor Sol Kyung Gu, who starred in the 2013 film "Wish." This year he will be seen in two films: "Two Constables" and "My Dictator."

The best actress award went to 19-year-old Shim Eun Kyung, who played an 80-year-old in the body of a 20-year-old in the film "Miss Granny."

The best supporting actor award was given to Lee Jung Jae for the film "The Face Reader." The best supporting actress award was given to Jin Kyung for her work in the film "Cold Eyes."

The best film of the year was judged to be "The Attorney."

Bong Joon Ho won best director award for his direction of the science fiction film "Snowpiercer." The dystopian drama had an international cast and was shown around the world.

"Grandpas Over Flowers" received an award for the best entertainment show.

The award ceremony was held in the Grand Peace Hall of Kyung Hee University in northeast Seoul.
