"Boardwalk Empire" season 5 spoilers are here and the show will have a seven-year time jump from the fourth season finale to the premiere. Meanwhile, cast Ben Rosenfield finished a romantic film with "American Horror Story" star Taissa Farmiga.
During the press promo for "The Purge: Anarchy," Michael K. Williams dished out some "Boardwalk Empire" season 5 spoilers when the show has moved to the Depression era timeline.
"The storyline has jumped seven years [into the future], which is why I have the beard now.
The Depression has set in. The days of the shiny shoes and fancy suits are long gone," he told Den of Geek.
He also said that his character Chalky White will search for Dr. Narcisse (Jeffrey Wright) for revenge.
"Boardwalk Empire" season 4 was set in 1924 so the seven year jump will take the show to 1931. The website then proceeded to reveal some potential "Boardwalk Empire season 5" spoilers:
"The seven-year jump takes us into the heart of the Great Depression in the U.S., which is one year away from Franklin D. Roosevelt's election (doom and gloom for a Republican like Steve Buscemi's Nucky Thompson), and two years away from the eradication of anti-liquor law," it said.
That could also indicate that season 5 would be its last since Enoch Johnson, on whom the "Boardwalk Empire" character Nucky Johnson (Steve Buscemi) was based, would have been in a downward spiral by then culminating in a prison term in 1941, the website added.
In related news, "Boardwalk Empire" cast Ben Rosenfield and "American Horror Story" star Taissa Farmiga has completed the follow-up film for Hannah Fidell's "A Teacher." The two will play high school sweethearts who are now in college and will face a series of traumatic events that will test their love for each other, The Wrap reported.
"Boardwalk Empire" is expected to be aired on HBO this fall.
