The Leftovers HBO Spoilers: Rapture-Themed Series Debuts Strong; Star Emily Meade Spills On Show's Nudity and Her Character's Crush On Justin Theroux

HBO's newest drama The Leftovers debuted to positive reviews. The new series follows the story of those left behind when 2% of the world's population disappeared all of a sudden.

The show revolves around Police Chief Garvey, (Justin Theroux), his daughter Jill (Margaret Qualley) and her best friend Aimee, who is played by Emily Meade.

Already, viewers are speculating on the reason behind the show's premise of some 3 million people simply vanishing, with the strongest argument being this event is what in the bible is known as the Rapture.

Aside from its intriguing theme, what has caught most people's attention is the sexy character of Aimee, who is played by actress Emily Meade.

Although Aimee provides much of the sexual undertones of the debut, especially in her particularly racy spin-the-bottle scene, Meade is quick to point out that there's more to Aimee than her physical appeal.

In an interview with Zap2it, the 25-year-old actress said, "I had a conversation with Damon (Lindelof, the co-creator of the show) where I said, 'I don't want to be the girl you tune in to see her boobs every week. I had no interest in that. I wasn't sure if her character was just supposed to be like the sexual part of the show and kind of one-noted. Surprisingly he gave me his word that wasn't it and to trust him, so I did."

Viewers have sensed a palpable attraction between Meade's character Aimee, and her best friend's dad, played by Justin Theroux. Although the actress is keeping her lips sealed about what will happen between Chief Garvey and Aimee, she did leave the window open to the possibility something building up in the future. She has said in the same interview that it "isn't crazy" to think that there is sexual tension between the two.

The actress actually did share with MTV about her and her character's thoughts on Justin Theroux. "I can't answer that either way, But yeah, Justin Theroux is hot, so she thinks he's hot. I can say that."
