Lee Seung Gi will romance Moon Chae Won in an upcoming film that has been described as a realistic love story.
In "Today's Love," he plays Junsu, a man who can't make his relationships work because he always gives too much of himself. Moon Chae Won plays Hyun Woo, a witty, talkative meteorologist.
The film has been described as a romance movie that depicts relationships between men and woman as being as delicate and complex as the weather.
As there are all kinds of weather, the couple's relationship might have to weather tumultuous storms, heat waves or a chilling frost.
Lee Seung Gi has previously said he is very fond of acting in romantic comedies and the bigger the challenges a fictional couple faces, the better. The realism of this particular love story appealed to him.
"A love story that can be seen in everyday life seemed interesting and it's a genre I personally prefer so I'm anticipating it," he told The Korea Herald.
He was also eager to work with director Park Jin Hyo whom he has long respected. Park Jin Hyo previously directed "You're My Sunshine" and "Voice of a Murderer."
"I liked the fact that the story has humor at the same time as telling a warm and realistic love story that everyone might have experienced once in their lifetime," Moon Chae Won told the Korea Herald. "I'm looking forward to showing another side of myself through this film."
It's a reunion for the actors who appeared together previously in the 2009 drama "Brilliant Legacy." In that drama she played Lee Seung Gi's girlfriend and the evil stepsister of the girl he would eventually fall in love with. Hopefully in this drama their romance will have a more promising end.
Lee Seung Gi just finished playing Go Ara's police partner and boyfriend in the police action thriller "You're All Surrounded." Before that he played a mythical half-human creature who loved Suzy Bae in the fantasy saeguk "Gu Family Book."
Moon Chae Won recently fell for Joo Won's savant doctor character in the medical drama "Good Doctor." And before that she was an heiress in love with Song Joong Ki in "Innocent Man." This year she also appeared in a short film titled "Awaiting."
"Today's Love" was previously titled "She Who Is Loved By Three Men."
Filming begins this month and the film will premiere in 2015.
