So far, only three main stars have confirmed their return to "Mission Impossible 5". We will see Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt), Jeremy Renner (William Brandt), and Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn) again on Christmas Day 2015. Just recently, film director Christopher McQuarrie revealed that another actor is making a comeback in the film series. He posted on Twitter, "Welcome back, Mr. Rhames. cc: @TomCruise @simonpegg @Renner4Real #MI5Diary"

Apart from Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames is the only actor other to appear in all film series. The 55-year old actor is known for portraying the role of IMF agent Luther Stickell, a skillful hacker that helps Ethan Hunt on his mission. Cruise, Renner, Pegg, and Rhames will be joined by newcomer Rebecca Ferguson, who is known for portraying Queen Elizabeth in the miniseries "The White Queen".

Mirror reported that the British actress was handpicked by Tom Cruise. A source told the website, "Tom thinks Rebecca is a future global film star. He was blown away with her performance in the White Queen and told movie bosses to get her signed up for the next Mission Impossible." The insider also said, "Some of the filming will take place in England, so Rebecca's British fans will get to see more of her over here."

Ferguson's role in "Mission Impossible 5" hasn't been revealed yet. According to Deadline, "Official details of her character (including the name) are still unavailable, but during the rumors of Chastain being courted the role was described as 'Tom Cruise's right hand woman.' Presumably that refers to her character and Ferguson won't just be Cruise's PA on set."

Based on reports, there's a huge chance that Rebecca Ferguson will become the new leading lady of Tom Cruise. If that's the case, then Paula Patton's role of IMF agent Jane Carter in "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" may be replaced by Ferguson's new character.

However, there were separate reports that the 38-year old American actress will be returning in the new sequel. According to Fanshare, Patton is now focusing on her acting career now that she has divorced Robin Thicke. The website also claimed that she will reprise her role as Jane Carter in the movie "Mission Impossible 5." Do you think Paula Patton will be making a comeback?
