Good news for fans of the Last of Us because The Last of Us 2 for PS4 has been reportedly confirmed during PAX Prime if the reports are to be believed.
Previously, IGN reported that The Last of Us 2 for the PS4 was 50/50 as stated by The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann when he stated that Naughty Dog has not yet decided if it will make a sequel to the game. "Right now I'd say it's 50/50," said Druckmann.
But in a report by Hypable, The Last of Us 2 for the PS4 has been confirmed but there are no significant plot details that have been set by Naughty Dog:
"When asked if there was going to be further content for the universe Joel and Ellie live in, Creative Director Druckmann said, 'It's possible. We're playing with some ideas, but no direction has been set yet for the next game.'"
"By stating 'for the next game,' Druckmann confirmed The Last of Us 2 is in the planning process."
"Later on, Druckmann tries to cover for himself, answering 'Will you be making another The Last of Us and will it feature Joel and Ellie?' with 'Don't know yet.'" Said Mitchel Clow of Hypable
And now Cyberland has reported that The Last of Us 2 for PS4 was reportedly announced during PAX Prime and that some concept art of The Last of Us 2 was shown behind closed doors.
Cyberland also reported that Naughty Dog is looking into a PC port of the Last of Us but there is no concrete reason for them to make it.
