Prince confirmed that he will be releasing a “super-experimental” album by 2015. After releasing two albums simultaneously last year, the singer is back with his latest offering titled “The Hit and Run Album.”
It was recently revealed that Prince is working on a new album with 3rdEyeGirl set to be release in a few months. His ban 3rd Eye Girl called the songs included in the album "super experimental."
"Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky," 3rdEyeGirl told BBC.
The band also promised that die hard Prince fans will definitely enjoy the new album, saying that it contains the artist's greatest hits.
"It's just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound."
3rdEyeGirl also revealed that the new album will feature never-before-heard versions of "1,000 Hugs and Kisses" and "This Could Be Us."
"This Could Be Us is such a classic tune that's so beautiful and the lyrics are amazing, the production is phenomenal."
"Also there's a song called 1,000 Hugs and Kisses that is just a super slow jam, to dance with your husband or your wife on the dance floor, it's a really dope, feel-good love song."
Prince's band was also surprised when they found out that he is working on a new album again given that they just launched "Plectrumelectrum" and "Art Official Age" back in September.
"Everything happens really fast here," the band said.
"When an idea comes... it's translated to the musicians or whoever's working on it and then recorded and laid down relatively quick and then it's put out."
