Duggar fans have been saddened by news update last week about TLC's announcement that they will be cancelling "19 Kids And Counting" for good.
Despite having a big fan base, "19 Kids And Counting" was cancelled after the Josh Duggar sex scandal broke. A few months ago, it has been revealed that Josh Duggar allegedly molested five minors when he was a young teen and four of his victims are reportedly his sisters.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar released a statement about their show being cancelled. According to the Duggar couple, they are thankful for the chance to share their lives with viewers.
"Years ago, when we were asked to film our first one hour documentary about the logistics of raising 14 children, we felt that it was an opportunity to share with the world that children are a blessing and a gift from God," Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar said in their official statement about the cancellation of "19 Kids And Counting."
However, recent rumors claim that a new update about the Duggar family could be announced soon, and this could involve the possibility of a spinoff show.
"According to the latest gossip news updates, the uber-religious reality stars are hoping to parlay the network's upcoming abuse special into a new spinoff," Classicalite wrote. "As insane as it sounds, the couple are said to be pitching a new show that will center on their counseling victims of sexual abuse -- like their daughters, Jill and Jessa."
A spinoff reality program could make sense, especially since the Duggar family fans have been craving update news about the Duggars' life after Josh Duggar's sex scandal broke.
Meanwhile, it's unclear whether a "19 Kids And Counting" spinoff or update special would star Josh Duggar, who have been the center the scandal that pushed the show out of TLC's programming.
