Four SM Entertainment K-pop stars will enlist in the Korean military in October and November. On September 2, the confirmed enlistment dates were released for Super Junior's Siwon (Choi Siwon), Donghae, Eunhyuk and TVXQ's Changmin (Max Changmin).
The Korean outlet Sports Today confirmed the news through a phone conversation with a representative at SM Entertainment.
"Super Junior's Eunhyuk, Donghae, Choi Siwon and TVXQ's Max Changmin have active duty enlistment dates," said the spokesperson for SM.
According to the article published by Sports Today, Donghae and Eunhyuk will be the first to enter the military. Eunhyuk will enlist on October 13 for active duty in the army. Donghae enlists two days later, on October 15, to serve as a police officer.
The Super Junior members, who have promoted under the nickname D&E, are responsible for hits like "Oppa, Oppa."
Donghae has held significant roles in Korean and Chinese dramas. He appeared alongside Choi Jin Hyuk in the 2012 cable drama, "Ms. Panda and Mr. Hedgehog." He led the cast of the Chinese-language drama, "Skip Beat!" along with Super Junior's Siwon.
TVXQ's Changmin and Siwon will begin their military service in November. Changmin currently stars in the MBC series, "Scholar Who Walks the Night," which will conclude its run on September 10.
Siwon starred in the 2015 Chinese-Hollywood co-production, "Dragon Blade." He will return to K-Drama in the upcoming MBC romantic comedy, "She Was Pretty," before enlisting.
Siwon and Changmin will enlist on November 19. They will both serve as police officers.
Super Junior fans were prepared for the announcement, following the discussion of the enlistment of Donghae, Eunhyuk and Siwon, during a recent Japanese concert.
