Super Junior Siwon and Jin Goo Star In MBC's New Variety Show + "Yacht Expedition" Press Conference

On the 12th of August, the upcoming MBC variety show "Yacht Expedition" gathers cast Jin Goo, Choi Siwon from Super Junior, singer Jang Ki Ha and Song Ho Jun!

Upcoming MBC variety show "Yacht Expedition" follows a documentary-style program that centers around four men who decide to challenge themselves by sailing on a yacht all around the Pacific Ocean. Their sailing adventure will be captained by Kim Seung Jin, who is impressively a professional sailor. Kim Seung Jin was the first-ever Korean to successfully sail a non-stop trip around the world without any help from outsiders.

"Yacht Expedition" includes a star line-up including Super Junior Siwon, singer Jang Ki Ha, and Song Ho Jun who is a writer and media artist. He was also the first person to create and launched a satellite into space.

The cast and crew gathered for the variety show's press conference. Producing director Song Ji Woong also mentions how he has worked on the approaching show for about two years. With regards to the searching of the show's cast, PD Song Ji Woong says that he specifically picked people who would genuinely enjoy the challenge. He also mentions that when he was asking around about who was the most adventurous person they know, most people answered Jin Goo and Jang Ki Ha. So Song Ji Woong decided to cast the two.

Choi Siwon was cast because Song Ji Woong knew people in SM Entertainment, and he heard that Siwon wanted to challenge himself in new adventures. As PD Song Ji Woong offered him a tentative invitation, Choi Siwon immediately agreed.

Meanwhile, PD Song Ji Woong knew about Song Ho Jun when he heard about him and his satellite in space through listening to "Radio Star." Although he doesn't have a history as an entertainer, he is part of the same age group of the cast. PD Song Ji Woong hopes that he will get along with the other casts easily. According to Song Ji Woong, the cast is better than what he expected!

Captain Kim Seung Jin also mentions how he was pondering about how to cast the members. The first-time sailors will have to adjust to the lifestyle of sailing. That's why captain Kim Seung Jin was quite shocked when the cast adjusted pretty easily.

Jang Ki Ha's progress was the fastest. Song Ho Jun, in the past, also has a lot of experience when it comes to boats, so he also adjusted pretty quickly. However, Jin Goo took a little bit of time before completely adjusting, and Choi Siwon, being the youngest, worked hard to adapt. The cast's adjustment periods added a whole lot of entertainment in the show.

Jin Goo also comments by saying that he agreed to star in the show because he believes so much in captain Kim Seung Jin. Although Jin Goo was shocked at first, he hopes to learn a lot of things from his castmates who live utterly different lives from him. He also enjoyed the fact that he can turn off his phone and focus more on living, enjoying his life without limits. Although the seasickness got him right, as the days pass, he gradually got used to the sailing lifestyle.

Meanwhile, Choi Siwon says that he willingly wanted to work with the cast members and the captain, so he was able to make a fast decision. He also mentions that the captain took care of them. He also adds jokingly, saying that he should think about the challenges long and hard after he accepts them. In addition, he also mentions how sleeping was quite hard because it was always damp. Choi Siwon was shocked when he never saw Jang Ki Ha seasick. Over, all Choi Siwon was happy to let people see another side of him in this show.

Jang Ki Ha says how it was so hard living in a boat that was moving every day. As soon as they landed, he was pleased and grateful to be standing on solid ground. He also mentions how he thought he was an adventurous person, but his thoughts about the yacht expedition changed after his experience.

Song Ho Jun says that he first wasn't sure about the show because the cast members were all tv entertainers, and he doubted if they would get along. But he still accepted the offer because he wanted to travel into the ocean. After all, the chance is so rare. Song Ho Jun says he enjoyed a lot. However, it was difficult to go to the bathroom and shower, which viewers will find funny after seeing the scenes.
