'The First Responders' Episode 10: Song Seol Laces Old Case To New One

"The First Responders" episode 10 begins with Jin Ho Gae confronting Song Ha Eun's (Kwak Ji Hye) family. Though she was at fault for killing her own baby, her family was the one to be blamed for mistreating her.

Thankfully, Song Ha Eun's father and brother's DNAs didn't match the dead infant's, indicating that there was no rape.

However, the father of the young woman goes on a rampage and threatens to press charges against Jin Ho Gae.

Song Seol (Gong Seung Yeon) then shares a lead about the prospective father of Song Ha Eun's child. She recalls the high school student's schoolmate who recently committed suicide.

Song Ha Eun's Dark and Painful Life

Jin Ho Gae gets ahold of the dead boy's DNA for medical purposes. Before he proceeds to the station, he catches the school principal trying to swap the boy's DNA with his own.

It is revealed that Song Ha Eun has been sleeping with men for money to make ends meet. The principal also didn't know about it until he was transferred to the school.

Song Ha Eun blackmailed the principal about it into giving her the exam answers. Unbeknownst to everyone, the dead boy was actually the father of the dead child.

Despite the outrage, Jin Ho Gae resonates with the teenage girl and appeases her, saying that everything wasn't entirely her fault.

He apologizes on behalf of all the adults who had failed her, and embraces the crying girl.

Bong Do Jin Investigates About Jin Ho Gae's Case

Elsewhere, Bong Do Jin (Son Ho Jun), who still doesn't trust Jin Ho Gae, asks about the other around.

He wants to know whether Jin Ho Gae was guilty for killing Kim Hyun Seo (Kim Min Seo) after her toes were found inside the police's apartment.

But everything gets cleared when a new case reintroduces the missing student at the hospital, getting treated after her own boyfriend smashes a glass bottle against her head.

The young woman also had no toes, which closes the case somehow and erases Jin Ho Gae's name from the crime.

Who Kidnapped Kim Hyun Seo?

Just when Bong Do Jin asks Jin Ho Gae to take a look at the young woman, someone abducts her. But thanks to her blood, the police confirmed that she is indeed Kim Hyun Seo.

Luckily, the doctor who treated her snapped a photo of her arm where she tattooed the view of her basement cell's window, giving a hint about where she's being kept.

Despite his father's interruption to his cases, Jin Ho Gae locates the place where Kim Hyun Seo was being held. In one photo, the kidnapper smiles like a mad man next to Kim Hyun Seo, feigning a family picture.

Jin Ho Gae learns that the kidnapper was someone he knows; he even talked to him in the hospital.

The episode ends with Jin Ho Gae screaming in frustration while the kidnapper smiles, driving Kim Hyun Seo to somewhere else.
