A day after the news broke that IU and indie musician Jang Ki Ha were dating, he made a sweet and positive statement confirming their relationship.
The couple's relationship went public when the Korean media outlet Dispatch released photographs of the actors together. Shortly after their relationship was publicized, her agency, Loen Entertainment, confirmed that they were indeed dating.
"The two people are currently dating after developing feelings for each other while exchanging dicussions about music as colleagues beginning two years ago."
And IU wrote to her fans on her fan cafe Uaena. IU, 22, wrote to say that she met Jang, 33, when she appeared on his radio program and was attracted to him right away.
"I fell for him immediately after meeting him for the first time through a radio show. He is a boyfriend whom I have a lot to learn from and I am thankful for that. We are dating like any other couple, having good times, fighting, getting disappointed, and feeling grateful."
Despite an 11-year age difference, the couple connected through their love of music and are still going strong.
When Jang Ki Ha commented on his fan cafe on October 8, he confirmed that the attraction was mutual.
"Hello, it's Jang Ki Ha," he wrote. "I am writing this because I want to personally tell you about the news articles that came up about IU and I. Yes, we are in a good relationship! I met IU for the first time when she came as a guest on my radio show back in October of 2013. After conversing with her, I thought, 'Wow, she is a very charming girl.'"
At the time he did not realize the attraction was mutual.
"When I talked to her about the time we first met, surprisingly, IU thought the same thing about me. It's already been two years since we've confirmed our love. IU is a very precious person to me. She is someone I lean on when times are hard and someone I can learn from in both life and the music industry. There are many people who support IU and myself, so I will do my best to never let those people down! I will also work on putting out better songs than before! Thank you so much for everyone's support."
Jang Ki Ha, who is the leader of the indie rock band Jang Ki Ha and the Faces, made his acting debut in the 2013 drama "Potato Star 2013QR3." He has served as the host of Ki Ha Jang's Great Radio broadcast since 2012. Jang Ki Ha debuted in 2008 with the song "Cheap Coffee" and he is currently preparing for a tour.
