Will a tragedy bring Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian back together?

Multiple reports have claimed that the "KUWTK" star has been keeping vigil in light of the former basketball star's condition, even as he reportedly woke up and even said "Hi" to his ex-wife.

Lamar Odom's aunt, JaNean Mercer, confirmed that Lamar Odom woke up from coma as she said in a statement, "No words can express the overwhelming gratitude we feel for the outpouring of support from around the world."

The 6-10 player also reportedly "gave a thumbs up sign" to doctors and even said a few words to them.

Because Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are still technically married, the "KUWTK" star reportedly had to make hard decisions regarding his affairs in light of his condition, said Daily Mail.

"Making these decisions is very hard. Kris came and was very helpful and supportive," the insider claimed. "Most people have been waiting in a waiting room outside the room and will go in one at a time. Khloe has really been the only one in the room 24/7, sleeping by his bedside and keeping vigil."

On multiple episodes of "KUWTK," Khloe Kardashian has insisted that she still loves Lamar Odom, but hinted that she couldn't save him from himself. The former Los Angeles Lakers star has been reported to be hooked on drugs.

Back in July, the two signed papers on their divorce days after speaking about a possible reconciliation. Then Khloe Kardashian went on to date James Harden, which allegedly sent Lamar Odom on a downward spiral which ended with him unconscious in a Las Vegas brothel room, leading to his condition now.

According to TMZ, there's a huge improvement to Lamar Odom's condition as he's now breathing on his own.

"Our hospital witnesses say Lamar has been taken completely off the ventilator. We're told he's still wearing an oxygen mask to increase his oxygen levels," it said. "Another big improvement ... Lamar has been responding to doctors both physically and verbally today and his heart is still doing well."
