On-and-off couple, Dakota Johnson and boyfriend Matthew Hitt, was spotted holding hands in East Village, New York over the weekend confirming speculations that they are together again.

"The Fifty Shades of Grey actress wore a thigh-length navy coat with a large silver zipper down the front and a fur-trimmed collar," Daily Mail said. "The daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson looked flawless, adding black sunglasses to her ensemble."

Completing her look was a pair of tan boots that went all the way up to her knees.

Drowners frontman Matthew Hitt, meanwhile, was again donning his trademark all black outfit although he broke the monotony with a pair of denim jacket.

He was also smoking a cigarette all throughout their stroll.

The news about the couple getting back together was quite a surprise since just last month, Dakota Johnson admitted during a guesting at The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she's single.

When the talk show host asked Dakota Johnson if she's in a relationship, the "Fifty Shades of Grey" actress replied, "no" before giving an awkward laughter.

But Ellen DeGeneres appears to pursue the line of questioning as she said, "So is it harder for guys, are guys scared of you? Or do you notice a difference in guys approaching or not approaching you?"

"You mean like when they run away from me?" she answered.

"I don't know," she continued. "I guess that if those are the two options, I guess they're scared of me. They either love me or they're running for the hills."

But then again, Dakota Johnson and Matthew Hitt have split and gotten back together so many times that it's hard to keep count.

They broke up before during the height of the popularity of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" as boyfriend Matthew Hitt was uncomfortable with all the hype and media attention surrounding Dakota Johnson.
