In a previous story, we listed a few signs that might indicate a kdrama addiction. Those signs included watching any drama more than once, marathoning an entire series and having seen a total of more than 10 dramas.
The list also included developing an interest in Korean culture, rearranging your life so you can watch more drama and learning to love the predictable clichés that are found in all your favorite dramas. Once you are addicted it no longer seems odd that people chase and occasionally catch buses, follow other people around without being noticed, or stop people by grabbing their wrists.
But as kdramas become a bigger part of your life, you may notice even more changes in your behavior. The word addiction implies that it's a serious problem but it can be quite funny. And you can quit any time you want to. Really!
Here are a few more funny signs that you might be addicted to kdramas.
1) You have switched from watching kdramas that are already complete to watching the ones that are currently running in Korea.
2) You are more concerned with who Lee Jong Suk might be dating than you are with who Ryan Gosling is seeing.
3) You find yourself humming the theme songs of the latest dramas and you even know who sings them.
4) You wait for people to ask, "What's a kdrama?" And then of course you have to show them an episode.
5) One of the phrases you are most often heard saying is "Just one more episode."
6) You start answering the phone with "Yobseo" instead of hello.
7) You feel you must have your cell phone with you at all times. Kdrama characters do, unless they are in a historical drama.
8) You now own a digital media device so you can stream kdramas wirelessly to your television.
9) You judge your significant other by whether or not their romantic gestures match up to the ones you have seen on dramas. Hint: they probably won't. Kdramas are fiction, after all.
10) Your significant other thinks you are secretly seeing someone else, but really you are just spending a lot of time thinking about Park Yoo Chun or Lee Min Ho or Jo In Sung or whatever actor is in your newest kdrama obsession.
