A live action "X-Men" TV series is coming to FX and FOX.
Fox and Marvel agreed to make "X-Men" TV series based on the mutant universe.
"The first will be called Legion and has been ordered to pilot by FX Networks," said the report. "The story will center on David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic who has found himself in and out of psychiatric hospitals since he was a teenager. After a strange encounter with a patient at one of these institutions, Haller realizes the voices in his head and the visions he sees might actually be real."
The pilot episode will be penned by Noah Hawley of "Fargo" and "Bones."
Nick Grad, FX Networks president of original programming, said in a statement, "Legion is just the sort of ambitious story that Noah excels at. His adaption of 'Fargo' for television was one of the most acclaimed television events in recent memory."
"It's also an honor to partner with Marvel on Legion and to enlist such an accomplished team of executive producers to create this pilot," he added.
Another "X-Men" TV series is "Hellfire" which will focus on a "special agent taking on a villainous cabal of millionaires known as the Hellfire Club," according to CNet.
The pilot episode will be penned by Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne.
But the "X-Men" TV series has far more bigger stakes than just bringing what seemed to be sure rating winners to the boob tube, considering the tussle between Marvel and Fox for some characters in the Marvel universe.
"Over the last few years, Marvel has been clawing back the rights to its characters so they can all appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a shared fictional backdrop for movies and TV shows such as 'The Avengers,' 'Agents of SHIELD' and 'Daredevil,'" CNet added.
The "X-Men" TV series could possibly be a step forward for the two studios to agree in making huge strides for a future partnership.
