Twitter Officially Introduces New Poll Feature; Do You Like It?

Last month, Twitter experimented the poll feature where selected accounts can create a poll for others to vote, as reported by The Guardian.

That was not the first time though because in 2014, users were asked of their Oscars favorites and to vote for them through a poll provided by Poptip. Last month's experiment got positive response. Now, Twitter has made it official.

According to Phandroid, some people love to debate and they have opinions they want to be heard. Hence, the popular social networking service that allows people to express their ideas or pour their hearts out introduces a new poll feature for users to further enjoy the privilege of expressing themselves.

Instead of relying on the old ways like hashtag replies, retweets or other ways to collect ideas, one can simply create a poll about anything and have his followers answer it. Twitter's new poll feature will roll out in a few weeks on the Web, iOS and Android.

With a few taps, people can participate in the topics they are interested in. If they want some opinions on who will win in the upcoming elections, what to name their upcoming child, or who will win the game tonight, Twitter can be the place to get other's opinions and answers.

On its official blog, Twitter said the new poll feature is a win-win for both the poll creator and the participants. For the poll creator, he will know what people think and for the participants, it is a good venue to have their voices heard.

It is easier than tweeting questions and track replies, asking followers to retweet or favor a tweet and tally hashtag votes. Creating a poll can be done right from the compose box. A poll remains active for a day. For voters, they can vote on any poll and their votes are not shared publicly.

Twitter users will know that the poll feature is already available if they see a poll icon in the compose box, and they can give it a try from there.
