The latest news about Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder is that the couple is arguing about having kids.

According to OK! magazine, "The Vampire Diaries" actor and the "Twilight" actress are not seeing eye-to-eye on expanding their family.

"They're arguing a lot," the insider claimed. "Nikki is ambitious and worries about derailing her career if she gets pregnant now."

Apart from her advocacy on animal rights and conservation, Nikki Reed has also just launched a fashion line.

"Since walking down the aisle five months ago, Ian has been wanting a child," the magazine claimed. "But the 27-year-old actress is constantly making excuses as to why it is too soon for her to have a baby. Her main reasons are because she wants to travel and focus on work."

In a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ian Somerhalder has revealed his desire to have kids with Nikki Reed somewhere down the line.

"Oh, hell yes! Absolutely. You know, it's all about practice. It's not practice makes perfect - it's perfect practice," he quipped.

"It's the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something," he added. "It's a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can't wait to do it and really just love it."

In lieu of kids, Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have been adopting pets left and right.

About a year ago, "The Vampire Diaries" actor showed off the newest addition to the family, a cat they named Sohalia, on his Instagram.

"Unfortunately this little kid was wildly mislabeled as "feral/not friendly", and had Nikki not gone in and opened her cage regardless, we would have never found out that she is the most loving kitty on the planet and she may have been put down," he wrote.
