Huawei is sending an invite to the media for a press event on Nov. 26. Many speculate that the company is ready to reveal another top-tier phone called Huawei Mate 8, which could be a strong contender of Apple's iPhone.

It is expected to be a 6-inch flagship with a quad HD 2560 x 1440 resolution screen and is powered by the 1.5GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 Central Processing Unit, the in-house HiSilicon 2.4GHz Krin 950 Cortex-A53 and a Mali T-880 Graphics Processing Unit.

Other featutes of Huawei Mate 8 include a 4,000mAh battery, 32GB storage, 21MP main camera and a 5MP "for selfie" camera. Rumors and leaks suggest it will come in 3GB and 4GB RAM variants.

The upcoming Huawei Mate 8 is a smartphone to watch, with its specs that can contend with the iPhone.

It looks like the probable most high-end quality smartphone to date, said China Business News. While the upcoming phone has no release date yet, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong confirmed it will be unveiled soon. The tech industry expects it will show up within this year.

Huawei is also anticipated to announce System on Chip Kirin 950 next month. Mate 8 will either launch alongside the SoC or separately. Its aluminium casing will appeal to high-end customers. Huawei Mate 8 may have the "Force Touch" feature as well, one that is implemented in Apple's new flagships, iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

The upcoming Huawei Mate 8 32GB storage and 3GB RAM will roughly be $520 while the 64GB 4GB RAM is rumored to be tagged $610. As a strong contender to iPhone 6s, it is still to be seen if the Chinese-made smartphone will get some of Apple Inc.'s market share.

The phone may likely run Android 5.1 Lollipop. The handset has reportedly commenced mass production for a late November or early December launch. Pocket Lint believes the inclusion of the Kirin 950 chipset has delayed the Huawei Mate 8.
