Bindi Irwin is asked by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to prove that her father Steve Irwin is dead to get paid for "Dancing With The Stars" show.
A Los Angeles Superior Court refused to acknowledge Bindi Irwin's "Dancing With The Stars" contract in order for receiving her payment from the channel since she is only seventeen years old. As per law Bindi Irwin's parents have to sign off to release the payment since she is still a minor, according Entertainment Weekly.
While Bindi Irwin's mother has already signed the contract the judge has ordered the star to get her father Steve Irwin's approval or a proof of his death. As a matter of fact, whether or not the judge is aware of the dancer's father's demise, it looks meaningful on his part to demand for a legal proof of Steve Irwin's death.
In order to receive her payment Bindi Irwin should get approval from her dad that he gave up rights on his daughter's earnings or produce a document proving that her father is no more. "The court is unable to find that it is in the best interest of the minor to be bound by the terms of the contract," noted the judge.
As for the pay, ABC guarantees a fixed pay of $125,000 for Bindi Irwin or any star that enters the show. The stars will receive $10,000 per week if they remain in the show for next three to four weeks and so on. Bindi Irwin has made $230K in "Dancing With The Stars" show by far and is expected to make a maximum of $360K overall by the end of the show if she gets through the final week, reported Reality Today.
"Petitioner has failed to show that the minor's father has irrevocably and perpetually released, relinquished and quit-claimed to the minor any interest he may have to the minor's earnings under the contract," the judge noted in his statement, reported Entertainment Weekly.
