Lindsay Lohan news reported how the "Mean Girls" star won in the latest round of her $60M lawsuit against a former business partner.
According to a report from Mirror UK, the actress was sued along with her brother, Michael Lohan Jr, and a colleague named Chris Roth. The complainant, a tech developer named Fima Potik, claims his idea for a fashion app named Spotted Friend was stolen by the group, who eventually released a similar version called Vigme.
Because of a temporary restraining order filed by their former partner, Lindsay Lohan and her Vigme colleagues have reportedly been unable to work on their app for over a year. The official launch of the online shopping application was also delayed because of Fima Potik's claims.
However, a court decision released earlier this week announced that the temporary restraining order has been lifted.
A legal representative for Lindsay Lohan explained to news publications how Fima Potik's lawsuit has no solid basis.
"Fima has disobeyed three court orders to produce proof that he had a working app by June 2013, something he was never able to prove," the actress' lawyer pointed out.
"He is a spoiled little wannabe trust-fund baby who wants to hang out with Lindsay and who got himself a lot of ink by suing."
A previous report from Page Six detailed how Fima Potik accused the former Disney star and her brother of using trade secrets that were supposed to be exclusive to his app.
"Prior to their involvement in Vigme, [the Lohans and Roth] were members of Spotted Friend LLC, a social commerce start-up that was founded by Fima Potik in 2013," said Marc E. Kasowitz, Fima Potik's lawyer.
"It is Fima Potik's - not the Lohans' - that created and developed the idea for a mobile application that allows users to access celebrities' and friends' 'virtual closets' and to directly purchase fashion items and accessories from these 'virtual closets.'"
However, the Spotted Friend creator has been unable to provide sufficient proof to back his claims, even after requesting for numerous extensions.
Lindsay Lohan news reported how the former child star fought back at the tech developer who accused her of stealing the idea for her online shopping app.
"He's a celebrity leech who has abused the court system," her spokesperson said.
