"Game of Thrones" writer George R.R Martin made an interesting revelation recently in an interaction with students form Medill School of Journalism in Chicago, which is George R.R Martin's Alma matter, according to The Week. A student among the audience asked George about the source of the idea behind the most used phrase 'Winter is Coming' in the "Game of Thrones" TV series in the interaction round.
George, in an answer to the question said that a winter of 1967 in Chicago have been very influential in his life. During those days, George was a student and he saw a very cold winter with lot of ice around and also cold winds. He also shared an experience where he said he couldn't even see in the ice tunnels due to cold winds, quoted The Week.
When another student asked a question about the death one of the characters from the "Game of Thrones" series, "Jon Snow," the author chose to not comment over the fact whether "Jon Snow" is returning to the series or not. He rather suggested on reading the books to find out more.
According to The Independent, the author also expressed his wish to see the character "Lady Stoneheart" in the "Game of Thrones" series. The 67-year-old author enjoys a celebrity status around the globe, whose book "A Song of Ice and Fire" was made in to the TV series "Game of Thrones," by HBO. George never had an assistant in the past, but the writer now has five of them. He also has two Business managers.
The writer has also admitted in the past that he is a slow writer and the show has caught up very rapidly with the book series. Cinema Blend quoted that with this pace, the TV-series might be able to move ahead of the book series, although, the TV-series and the books are expected to end on a same note. The TV-series will release its sixth season somewhere around April next year, while the next installment to the book series "Winds of Winter" is still being penned down by George.
