Despite proof that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are indeed dating after their divorce from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, respectively, it seems that the No Doubt vocalist isn't ready to label their connection as a "relationship."

According to a report, Gwen Stefani's hesitation to confirm a budding relationship with Blake Shelton may have something to do with her kids with Gavin Rossdale - Kingston, 9, Zuma, 7, and Apollo, 20 months old.

"It may seem like Gwen is back tracking by saying she never said she was in a relationship, but it's just semantics. She has explained to her kids that she's dating Blake,"a source close to "The Voice" coaches told Hollywood Life.

"The word relationship sounds way too serious and she doesn't want to freak out her boys. It would be a big deal for mommy to be in a new relationship."

Instead of referring to her closeness with Blake Shelton as a "relationship," Gwen Stefani reportedly prefers to call it "dating."

"The term dating has a more loose, fun definition. It's not so serious. She doesn't want her kids to get the wrong idea. She's just trying to protect them like any parent would," the insider added.

"Plus she doesn't want her kids to think that Blake is somehow replacing daddy. To them, Blake is a good friend that she is dating, which means spending time with him and doing fun things together."

Though Blake Shelton has reportedly met and was a hit with Gwen Stefani's boys, the romance between "The Voice" co-mentors is purportely not sitting well with someone from Blake's side - his estranged wife, Miranda Lambert.

"Miranda Lambert is not happy with Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's romance," Celeb Dirty Laundry previously reported. "Before the country singing couple's divorce, Lambert allegedly noticed sparks flying between Gwen and Blake."

"Basically, Shelton falling in love with Gwen Stefani is Miranda's worst nightmare! However, executives at 'The Voice' are excited about Blake and Gwen's romance. The drama will bring viewers and a fresh interest, which means higher ratings for the show," the report continued.
