Nolan North, who plays Nathan Drake in "Unchartered," just spilled the beans at the MetroCon on the production for "Last of Us 2." Unfortunately, however, there was no release date confirmation although speculation claimed that it's going to be in late 2018.

"A fan inquired if North was collaborating with Naughty Dog on any projects following Uncharted 4, and he responded by confirming that Uncharted 4, for the time being, would be his last time working with Naughty Dog," said Movie Pilot.

What got fans buzzing, however, is his announcement.

"I know they're doing a Last of Us 2," he said.

Movie Pilot speculated that the release date of "Last of Us 2" won't happen in late 2018 or early 2019 just based on Naughty Dog's history.

"Naughty Dog's next big project, Uncharted 4, isn't due for release until Spring 2016, and Naughty Dog typically has two to three years between game releases," it said.

The report of "Last of Us 2" has been going around the Interwebs since last year. The talks intensified when the name of "Game of Thrones" actress Maisie Williams was tied to the project.

In an interview with Flicks and the City, Maisie Williams confirmed that there's going to be a "Last of Us 2," without announcing the release date.

"The actual film, the making of the film, the script and everything is in very, very early days... It was announced sort of prematurely almost in that I would love to play Ellie, they would love me to play Ellie," she said. "There's no film happening at this very second, so I cannot play Ellie right at this very minute. But when that comes around - if and when that comes around - I'll be here."

To date, developers have not confirmed the release date for "Last of Us 2."
