"Two and a Half Men" star Charlie Sheen has made a personal disclosure that he is H.IV Positive, in an interview on the show "Today," quoted The New York Times.

Charlie told in the interview that he was suffering from the disease since four years. He also went on to add that some people who knew about his medical condition, asked money from the actor to keep mum.

According to Today, the actor was quoted saying in the interview that he had to shell out around $10 million to conceal his medical state from public. He further said that he was betrayed by people who were very close to him. Charlie vowed to not make any further payments to keep his secret in the dark.

Charlie Sheen admitted that he was prone to drugs and has committed mistakes in the past, but was not sure about the source of the disease that he has contracted, according to The New York Times. Charlie mentioned that he intends to support other people with the disease due to the stigma attached to the disease. There were lots of reports doing rounds about an actor having contracted the disease, but none of them confirmed on the name.

Bree Olson, Charlie Sheen's former girlfriend tweeted that she underwent an H.I.V test to check if she had contracted the disease, reported the U.S Magazine. Bree Olson, an ex-adult movie actress has also stated her concerns on the Facebook page.

Charlie Sheen, an American actor was very popular for his role of flamboyant "Charlie" in the series "Two and a Half Men." The actor was reportedly shown the door from the TV series for his unprofessional behavior due to drugs. Charlie Sheen has been previously nominated for "Golden Globe Award" and "Emmy Award" for Best Actor Category. Charlie Sheen gained recognition from the movie "Platoon."
