It's been widely rumored that there was tension between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev on the set of "The Vampire Diaries" which ultimately led to her exit.
Now, the gossip mill is claiming that their co-workers are taking her side.
"Nina Dobrev is greatly missed by co-workers on TVD. Are Ian's co-stars tired of his self-important diva antics?" said Celebrity Dirty Laundry. "According to reports Somerhalder's love of the spotlight might be causing some friction, and without Dobrev's presence to keep Ian in check, it's becoming a problem."
But what's the basis for CDL to speculate that Ian Somerhalder is becoming a diva after Nina Dobrev's exit from "The Vampire Diaries?"
The article pointed out to the quote from Nina Dobrev's ex in a Variety interview where Nikki Reed's husband said that "The Vampire Diaries" will survive post-Elena by changing the storyline around, like focusing on his character Damon for example.
"As far as changing it up, there were some differences that sort of mixed up the formula. I just started shooting episode 10, which is a concept episode," he said. "The episode was really about Damon, but that's not why I think it was the best at all. The way the story was put together ... every artisan from set to producers to wardrobe to everyone was just so on-point."
But CDL added that Paul Wesley has a very different view with regards to the direction of "The Vampire Diaries" after Nina Dobrev's exit.
"They (Damon and Stefan) should be teaming up and fighting the negative outside forces. There's no room for them to be at odds with each other. There's just no room for either one of them to be the villain," he told Collider.
"I think people really enjoy it when the brothers are comparable to the guys on Supernatural: buddy up and fight bad guys!" Paul Wesley added.
