Chris Evans, British television presenter and businessman, recently started filming for the car racing "Top Gear" series. The 49-year-old actor filled in the shoes of Jeremy Clarkson, ex-host of the show, to represent the racing show which will be aired next year around May.
The filming for the series is currently being done at the London Olympics stadium, where the television persona was seen donning a leather jacket and a red checked hat. Chris was also seen chatting with the Formula One racer Daniel Ricciardo during the shoot.
According to the Huffington Post, the car racing series was in the news lately due to its controversy with the lead presenter of the show, Jeremy Clarkson. Jeremy had a bitter fight with the show's producer, Oisin Tymon and thus was fired from the show. James May and Richard Hammond, subsequently left the series after Jeremy was fired.
Chris expressed his excitement to work for the top racing show and said that it was unimaginable for him to be able to work for such highly watched television series. "We started filming on Wednesday, which is a bit weird. It means we're going to throw to that from our studio in May and we're going to have to be the same but different," said Evans, reported Mirror.com.
He also said that he never saw himself in the position of the presenter as he felt that there were already great actors, Richard and James, suitable for the job. Chris confirmed that he got a call from the producer of the show when was filming "TFI Friday" show, reported Daily Mail.
Evans was clear on the thought that he accepted the proposal for the host of the show only when he knew that none of his other friends, Richard or James were doing the show. Chris Evans is currently also doing the "TFI Friday", which a television entertainment series.
