After the success of "Fast & Furious" 7, rumors have it that prequels and a spin-off are now in the works. One of its main cast, Ludacris, even expressed his opinion about this.
He said a spin-off of the movie with him and Tyrese Gibson, who play the characters Tej and Roman respectively, is a good idea. But the actor and singer also asked for the fans' help for the project to pursue.
"I would LOVE for that to happen. I'd love it. But it would take people like you and all our great fans to let them know that you want that to happen. So, please do that," Chris "Ludacris" Bridges said in an interview with Screen Crush.
"All actors want more work and don't want to publicly denounce any future opportunities," the Screen Crush report noted. "But, there have been talk about spinoffs, and Bridges and Tyrese are friends in real life, have great chemistry and he's obviously very excited about it."
Recently, main cast Vin Diesel already hinted that there will be three possible prequels and spin-off for "Fast & Furious."
"We've written out story lines for various characters," Vin Diesel told Variety. "We've been playing with it for a long time. It's a very rich property and we're committed to treating it with a lot of class."
Universal Pictures had also confirmed the upcoming spin-offs and prequels though there are still no final details yet.
"We're certainly in conversations about how we can expand the franchise now," Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley meanwhile confirmed. "It's an ensemble cast and there's room to bring characters in and out."
It was previously reported that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will do a spin-off between the "Fast & Furious" 6 and 7 but it did not happen. Michelle Rodriguez, who plays as Letty, and duo Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson are the only ones left to do a spin-off.
