Those who would like old-school look with modern technology can rejoice with the announcement by Samsung to release the W2016 Android flip phone in gold and silver colorways this 2015.
"Some may call the W2016 excessive," said Android Authority. "But for Samsung, and presumably certain demographic groups in Asia, this dual-screened device makes total sense. Just like the Galaxy S6, the W2016 comes with a sculpted aluminum frame, a curved metal back, and metallic accents. Even the speaker perforations and USB slot on its bottom evoke Samsung's early 2015 flagship."
At the heart of Samsung's W2016 flip phone is the Android 5.1 Lollipop with 1.5 GHz octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. The gadget, which is already LTE ready, weighs about 240 grams and measures 120.4x61x15.1mm with a 3.9-inch 1280 x 768 AMOLED display.
"Coming in gold or silver, the device is rather heavy, at 204 grams. It's also 15.1 mm thick when closed, but that's the price you need to pay for style," the website said of the 2015 Samsung Android flip phone.
"The new flip phone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera also on board," reported Gadgets TV.
"There is 64GB of inbuilt storage on the new Samsung flip phone and it doesn't support expandable storage. It comes with 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, and Micro-USB connectivity options," it added.
As for battery life for the Samsung W2016 Android flip phone, it's powered by a 2000mAh pack although there's no detail yet on the standby and talk times. But it does boasts for a fast-charging feature allowing the gadget to reach 50% capacity in just half an hour.
To date, there's no price listing yet for the 2015 Samsung Android flip phone after its launch in China. There's also no word if the device would reach the shores of North America.
