BioWare Canada studio general manager Aaryn Flynn has previously revealed that "Mass Effect Andromeda" would get a holiday 2016 release date.

He also said that gamers would be off on a very new adventure, "taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy," in "Mass Effect Andromeda."

"You will play a human, male or female, though that's actually not the character you saw in the trailer," Flynn added. "You'll be exploring an all-new galaxy, Andromeda, and piloting the new and improved Mako you saw. And through it all, you will have a new team of adventurers to work with, learn from, fight alongside of, and fall in love with."

Express reported that "Mass Effect Andromeda" would have a new character based on the trailer, which showed a brief scene where a dog tag can be seen at the cockpit.

"It's hard to tell what it says but most have settled upon the idea that it says 'Ryder' and there are several reasons why this could make a very good fit," it said. "Commander Shepard was named after the first American man in space, Alan Shepard, and with keeping the tradition of the original Mass Effect trilogy alive, BioWare look to be doing the same in Andromeda."

"Sally Ride was the first American woman in space and would appear a great fit for a main character who can be either gender," it added.

Yanick Roy, BioWare Montreal studio director, meanwhile, said that for "Mass Effect Andromeda," they are sticking close to the original in terms of the musical score.

"The game's music itself will be much closer to what you would traditionally associate with 'Mass Effect music,'" Roy said.
