Andre Ward has called out Gennady Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs) as he was supposedly left out of the undefeated middleweight champion's next fight.
Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs) is now training his sights on Sergey Kovalev after "Triple G's" camp reportedly expressed its disinterest in pitting their fighter against him for Gennady Golovkin's next fight.
He recounted that Roc Nation offered K2 promotions a significant amount for the Andrew Ward vs. Gennady Golovkin fight, but was rebuffed.
"If anybody knows me I don't have to lie about these things," he said. "I just feel bad for the fans because they are confused, and they don't know (what's going on). The trainer likes to talk a lot. The promoter likes to talk a lot."
Andre ward continued that if it were up to him, he would be the first in line for Gennady Golovkin's next fight.
"I was willing to fight him anywhere, anytime," he added of Golovkin. "I can show you the texts of my people and his people. He just doesn't want to fight me, period. He can come up with any excuses he wants to, but the fact is the fans will never get to see this fight and it would have been a great one."
Although there's no report yet on Gennady Golovkins next fight, Bad Left Hook listed the potential opponents for Triple G.
There's Canelo Alvarez or Miguel Cotto, Billy Joe Saunders or Andy Lee, Tureano Johnson, Andre Ward and Bernard Hopkins.
Even if he was not named as the potential opponent for Gennady Golovkin's next fight, Erislandy Lara (22-2, 13 KOs) claimed that he has the perfect formula for giving Triple G his first loss.
"I want to clean things out at 154-pounds, and if I'm not able to do that, then I will move up to 160 and throw a challenge to whoever. I've studied Gennady Golovkin, and I've discovered his flaws," he said.
