Double Fine, American video game developer recently revealed that its adventure video game "Psychonauts 2" is in the initial phase of development, according to Euro Gamer.
A short teaser for the game was also released during "The Game Awards." The game's developer revealed that all the requirements for the game, main characters have been discussed and the game story narration is almost completed. But the only problem for the production house is funding required for the game.
Entertainment Weekly reported, Tim Schafer, founder of the organization has requested for $3.3 million funds from various investors and fans, to kick start the game in the development phase.
Double Fine is looking forward to the investments from all its fans and investors on the company's crowdfunding platform "Fig," originally conceptualized by Jonathan Bailey, ex-founder of Double Fine.
With the help of this platform, people can contribute for the development of their favorite psychic ability based game "Psychonauts 2," and also avail a small amount of share in its profits, if the game turns out to be a huge success.
"I've wanted to make this game for 10 years, but it wasn't possible before crowdfunding, specifically the kind of crowdfunding that lets us share our profits with the backers," said Tim, reported Engadget.
The second installment of the game has been written by Erik Wolpaw and the characters Raz and Lili are voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz and Nikki Rapp.
Tim also said that he is ready to take responsibility of the excellent development of the game, once the necessary funds are raised. The game is set to be developed in "Unreal Engine 4," which will cut down most of the budget of the game.
The upcoming game is all about dreams and the subconscious mind. It is shown that the game's character "Raz" acts according to the voice of his subconscious mind. The other lead characters, Sasha and Milla will also be seen in the upcoming game.
The gamers get to enter different characters minds and solve different puzzles and mind games. Raz will now be shown as a "Psychonaut" in the second game and will be seen in the "Psychonaut Secret Headquarters."
The gamers will be able to take part in the spying process of the game and meet other psychonauts. New mental worlds will be unlocked, which the gamers will be able to explore and rediscover the secrets of the psychonauts organization. The new game promises to be full of adventure and thrill with lots of mystery packages throughout the run of the game, reported Polygon.
The game will be available on all the gaming consoles including, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC after its release.
