Telltale Games, together with DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is set for a new episodic game series, and it will be based on Gotham City hero, Batman this time.
The first chapter will be for PCs, consoles, Macs and mobile devices next year. There are no details about the game yet, nor an official title, reported Windows Central.
"At Telltale, we've been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we're excited to announce that we'll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year," Telltale Games co-founder and CEO Kevin Bruner stated.
"This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy." Bruner added.
According to The Tell Tale blog, the announcement was made in Los Angeles on stage during The Game Awards 2015.
According to SiliconEra, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment President David Haddad said Telltale Games has a name of "creating award-winning content" and "We look forward to working with the team as they deliver a new interactive way for fans and gamers to experience the rich narrative world of Batman."
The episodic Batman game will follow other Telltale Games like "Game of Thrones," "Minecraft Story Mode," "The Walking Dead," "Tales from the Borderlands," "Back to the Future The Game" and "The Wolf Among Us," said TechTimes.
The systems of Telltale Games usually allow gamers to take charge of the story and get the results of their actions. Such way of gaming is then expected in the upcoming Batman game. Bruner said the gamers will have a first-hand opportunity to explore the life and mind of the Dark Knight as the hero tries to save a city plagued by corruption and villains.
