Actress Kang Doo Ri died on December 14 at the age of 22. The actress, who appeared in the recent high school drama "Sassy A Go Go" was initially reported as having died in a car accident, but her death is now being reported as a suicide.
The Korean media outlet TV Daily reported that when the Samsan Police investigated her death detectives found a message that the actress wrote to a friend. The message suggested that the actress was considering taking her life. The police did not find any evidence to suggest a break in or that anyone else was involved in her death.
A few days before Kang Doo Ri died, she wrote to friends saying that she was having a difficult time with some "bad personal problems." The message said that her personal problems seemed to improve after the November 10 completion of her drama but then the problems got worse again. She said she was doing her best to be brave. She also apologized for her actions but did not say what she had done.
Neither the police nor the hospital where the actress was taken would comment further on the case or cause of death.
Kang Doo Ri first appeared in a drama in 2010 when she had a role in "Three Brothers." She was a popular online broadcast jockey. Her wake is being held at the Incheon St. Mary Hospital and the funeral procession takes place on December 16.
