Lunar New Year Holiday Cancels 'Cheese In The Trap'

If you were eagerly waiting for the next episode of the webtoon-based drama "Cheese in the Trap," you will unfortunately have to wait a week longer.

The drama is taking a break for Korea's Seollal or Lunar New Year Festivities. The national holiday falls on Monday, February 8, this year. That means there will be no episodes of "Cheese in the Trap shown on February 8 or 9. Episodes 11 and 12 are scheduled to air on February 15 and 16.

The tvN drama can afford to take a break as it has done well in the ratings, achieving a high of 7.1 percent nationwide Nielsen ratings for its next to last episode. The webtoon had many loyal fans who tuned in for the drama. And the leading actor Park Hae Jin also has a considerable fan following.

The webtoon-based drama tells the story of Hong Seol, a poor hardworking university student, played by Kim Go Eun. She meets the seemingly perfect student Yoo Jung, played by Park. At first Yoo Jung acts coldly toward her but then becomes affectionate and protective. Hong Seol is confused but attracted to him. Once they start to date, Yoo Jung seems like the perfect boyfriend too but Hong Seol learns that he has a dark side. He can be cruel and impulsive. It's hard for her to trust him as his behavior is not consistent.

The drama also stars Seo Kang Joon as the second lead, Baek In Ho, and Lee Sung Kyung, as Baek In Ha, his spoiled sister. Park Min Ji and Nam Joo Hyuk play supporting roles.

The drama's normal schedule resumes next week.

In Korea, the cable channel tvN will show Lunar New Year special programming and the channel will air the romantic comedy "Love Forecasr" starring Lee Seung Gi and Moon Chae Won.
