Recently, Suzy sat down for an interview and opened up about her leaving JYP Entertainment while shooting for her upcoming drama.
During the talks, Suzy shared her thoughts on her departure from her long-term label JYP Entertainment this past March. The star joined the company sometime in 2009 and debuted as a member of Miss A with the single "Bad Girl Good Girl" in 2010. After nine years, Suzy left JYP following the expiration of her contract and signed with Management SOOP this past spring. Her last release under JYP is the single "Midnight" on March 9, 2018.
Suzy stated, "There were some confusing parts about changing agencies in the midst of filming the drama. That kind of case emerged because shooting for Vagabond happened over a very long time." "However," she added, "unassociated to my shifting agencies, I am planning to work hard to show you great things. I hope you will continue to look after me."
Suzy further stated, "Just like my role Go Hae Ri who grows and improves in Vagabond, I also hope to show myself developing and transforming as a better actress through this drama."
Meanwhile, this will be second drama that Lee Seung Gi and Bae Suzy will be working together, following Gu Family Book last 2013. In the interview, the lead stars were asked what it's like to work again with each other after six years.
Suzy answered, "We worked together six years ago, and I had such great memories from then. I was delighted to work with him again on such great series. And I thought that he is perfect for the role of Cha Dal Geon, so I am excited to play the role of Go Hae Ri and act with him."
Lee Seung Gi shared, "Hae Ri is the role that uncovers the truth behind the conspiracy with Dal Geon, and Suzy is a famous actress with great acting skills, so I think the fact that she took the role of Hae Ri completed this show, Vagabond."
"Vagabond" is set to premiere on September 20 at 10 p.m. KST.
