The actress, who was born in the year of 1980, had her debut when she was 21 years old, for the film, "Flower Island" (2001). She then started her career as an actress where she appeared on various films with different genres from the year 2001 up to this year. This included her appearance for the popular films such as, "Melo", "Obsessed", "Wonderful Nightmare", "Split", "The Villainess", and "Missing 2".

She also appeared for a cameo on the 16th episode of OCN's Voice Season 3 aired this year, where she played the role of an Onsung Welfare Center staff.

Meanwhile, in her interview, the actress shared that she does have a lot of worries upon coming back to the big screen after 2 years of hiatus. She said, "I thought I couldn't open the movie because it was a small movie, but I am very happy to meet the audience. I am happy that the movie comes out."

On the other hand, the movie, with the title of "Aewol: Written in the Wind" will revolve around the story of healing where the island of Jeju Island is featured. The story focused on overcoming the grief and sadness of the main characters which started when, So Wol, played by Kim Hyena, experienced the pain of losing her lover, Soo Hyeon. Since then, she decided to stay on Aewol, the place where her loved one met a tragic accident.

Kim then reminisces the days with her mother who passed away four years ago. She stated, "My mother passed away 4 years ago. I miss her again, and I think about her a lot, too.

Furthermore, Kim revealed that she once thought of quitting her career as well as acting at the age of 40. "I was sick, I had a break for a while because of personal experience."

However, after accepting the project offered for her, she has to stay at Jeju Island for more than a month and due to this, it changed her mind because she felt the excitement and fun again of acting after filming.

"It was nice to have such a script in a while."

"Aewol: Written in the Wind" will be having its premiere on September 26.
