During this scene his character as Cha Dal Gun has barely just made it out of an exploding car and out of breath he then wipes the sweat from his face and soot off it and his fireproof jacket is in tatters. This scene in "Vagabond" was shot in an abandoned warehouse near Gyeonggi Province in South Korea.
Although the staff members and the production team dissuaded Lee Seung Gi from shooting the said scene himself, the actor still showed his determination to pull off the scene on his own without a backup stuntman. He then wore a fireproof jacket and reassured the staff on set.
However, they began filming after Lee Seung Gi had gotten the chance to practice even more for the scene with the other stuntmen multiple times. Afterward, once he got the director's "okay" sign Lee Seung Gi got up from the floor and showed his signature bright smile towards the production team to lessen their worries.
Moreover, the production team shared, "Lee Seung Gi's passion towards the drama and his sincere acting made everyone give him a standing ovation after the scene was completely done. We are positive that this will remain as a memorable action scene that can't be seen for the viewers without tears."
Meanwhile the other cast of the drama had discussed their high budget and when Lee Seung Gi was asked whether the 25 billion won ($21.1 million) budget put pressure on him, he answered, "The producers prepared so perfectly that I did not feel any pressure because they filmed in a way that did not disrupt the drama and was more fun than the script, I never felt burdened. It was a place where I could safely focus on my acting." When he was asked about his character, he answered, "I think the character is the manliest out of anyone I have played. Usually, in action movies, the main character is someone who has received special training. However, "Vagabond" is about a regular person stumbling in a conspiracy."
