It was also reported that throughout the festival, 299 films had its screening over 37 screens at six theaters in Busan.
In addition to the film screenings, this year's festival features nine open talks, 22 outdoor stage greetings, one master class, two hand printings, three short films and long talks, 14 special talks, 7 press conferences, and special screenings for Busan Citizen Park.
Meanwhile, aside from these activities, actors and actresses who participated in the festival had their red carpet walk, featuring the stunning visuals while wearing their formal attire. Some of the Korean artists who owned the red carpet were Im Yoon-ah , who attended the event for her movie "EXIT". She showcased her natural beauty with her different outfits. Other Korean artists capture the heart of the audience and participants of the festival were Lee Ha Nee, Kim Se Yeon, Chun Won-hee, Jo Jong Suk, Lee Joo Young and many more.
On the other hand, the winner of the festival who took home the grand prize is, Vietnamese movie, "Rom" and Iraq-Qatar co-production "Haifa Street" who split award for the category of new current competition.
The film festival aims to showcase the in-depth aspects and trends in Cinema as well as to showcase the filmmakers in Asia, may it be independent filmmakers or the well-known. Though, it was also participated by other continents such as America and Europe.
Furthermore, the audience, fans, and supporters of the festival expressed their positive comments and feedback for the movies that were screened. The opening movie from Kazakhstan/Japan, "The Horse Thieves/Roads of Time" set the mood of the opening of the event while "Moonlit Winter", a Korean film directed by Lim Daehyung will be screened as the closing film of the 2019 BIFF this afternoon.
"Busan International Film Festival" was founded in 1996, and become one of the long-running festivals for 23 years.
