"I want to make the audience cry without crying on stage," play actor "Ryu Duk Hwan" (26) said.
Actor Ryu Duk Hwan, who had previously been on movies and dramas, started preparing for his role in a play, "Laughter College."
Play "Laughter College" is a story of a passionate playwright, who wants to deliver the laugher to the people of 1940s during the World War 2, and a cold censor who doesn't believe in comedies.
The play first appeared in Korea starring Ryu Duk Hwan's colleague Song Young Chang (Censor) and Hwang Jung Min (Scriptwriter) in 2008.
"I saw the first version of 'Laughter College' with the two. When I watched it, I thought, I shouldn't do this play. I didn't' know what exactly, but I was afraid of something."
However, after five years of break and learning more about the play, Ryu Duk Hwan naturally gained his interest in the play.
"I don't know what changed me, but I gained confidence."
He added, "I can't say the profession of actor is my profession. However, I do feel that I can do it better, little by little."
The play "Laughter College" airs on November 8, 2013, in Uniplex in Dae Hak Ro.
