Suzy was given the chance to take part in a special event held in the Blue House. There she was honored to meet the President of South Korea, President Moon Jae In, and his beautiful First lady Kim Jun Sook.

On the 20th of December, the government-sanctioned Community Chest of Korea organization organized an event at the blue house. They are hoping that it would encourage people to give or make donations to this charity. The president of this organization noted that this year, the donations haven't been high which makes the life of the disadvantaged even more difficult.

For those who want to know more about this organization, let me give you a quick review of it.

Community Chest of Korea is a Korean nonprofit organization, which was launched in 1998 and the only government-sanctioned charity in Korea. It is Korea's largest welfare institution. It gives support to different welfare centers, community projects and partners with other nonprofit organizations through community-based fundraising efforts.

Announcer and host Kim Sung Joo is the honorary ambassador of the Community Chest of Korea. What the organization mainly does are raising, distributing, using and managing funds; investigating, studying and promoting fund-raising; and enhancing cooperation with organizations who collect other donations. Then whatever they collect, it is being distributed by receiving ongoing applications. The application is then carried out by presenting it to the board of directors that consists of experts from many fields, including the business community and religious circles, and the charity's chairman to raise the transparency and efficiency of the distribution.

In December 2007 the Community Chest of Korea established the "Honor Society". It is for individuals who donate at least 100 million won to the charity. They established the "Honor Society because they aim to further a culture of donations and charity works. The current members of the Honor Society include celebrities Im Yoona, Bae Suzy, and Park Hae-jin.

Some independent businesses usually donate to Community Chest of Korea through the "Kind Store Campaign". The "Kind Store campaign" is an effort for which stores can donate some percentage of their total sales. Independent businessmen, small businesses, franchises, academies, and hospitals join and participate each year in the" Kind Store". If some businesses do a Kind Store campaign, Community Chest of Korea sends and gives out stickers that symbolize the donation and a signboard.

Suzy was present at the event, and accompanying her is actor Jung Bo Suk, since the two stars are members of the Honor Society of the Community Chest of Korea after they have given wholeheartedly over 100 million won (approximately $86,210). Suzy became a member of the society back in 2015. Suzy and Jung Bo Suk offered the President and the First Lady with badges from the Community Chest of Korea.

President Moon Jae In said to Suzy that he had heard that the young actress donated for Sewol and for the Gangwon Wildfires too. He added that it must not be easy to open her heart like that, but the president said that he is very grateful.

He then said to Jung Bo Suk, "I think your heart is also a jewel. It's particularly moving that both you and your wife are members of the Honor Society."

A lot of Korean actors and actresses are active in charity work. It goes to show that they as well are gifted with a kind heart.
